Alexander Wang held his fall show in the usual place, Pier 94, and the set seemed promising enough: a group of mirrored columns arranged in the middle of a semi-dark, rectangular space…I could sense that the fabrics and knits were lacquered and bonded. There were also black leather pieces—again, the silhouette was hard and sharp—and there were white garments with long fringe.
I mean, I think so. The details were virtually lost. After the finale, a second presentation started as a group of models, their faces half concealed, came out and circled the mirrored columns. Each woman stopped in front of a mirror, turned toward the audience, and pulled down her face covering. Voila! It was just bizarre and, yes, a little pretentious. (Read the rest of the review here)
