For Spring 2013 the recently minted design team over at Belstaff turned out a collection influenced by travel in rather interesting ways. The stripes that appeared woven into jackets and printed on silk chiffon dresses came from those one might find painted on suitcases in the days of steamer trunks and posh train travel. Jumpsuits and small industrial garment details were points of reference from pilot Amelia Earhart, who wore Belstaff actually.

The jackets were flawless as usual, and the cropped spring outerwear looks had me sighing and wondering where I might find an extra months’ rent to put aside towards a purchase of one. The proportions were crisp and flattering and the collection was well merchandised though somewhat repetitive in terms of color, which seems to be the one minor weakness in this creative team.
